The Salvadoran capital's newspaper market has long been structured around two dominant national dailies, though the landscape has expanded to include specialized sports publications and pioneering digital outlets. Founded in 1915, La Prensa Grafica operates as a leading conservative broadsheet alongside its primary print competitor, El Diario de Hoy. The press sector also includes Diario CoLatino, the country's oldest operating newspaper which traces its roots back to 1890, and El Faro, an internationally recognized digital investigative journal.
